The combat feeling more like XCOM is also a definite positive in my book. I dunno but i think that's because i can see the consequences of my actions much sooner which makes me play much less opportunistic. This game is quite hard so i'm always looking for things that might make life easier but despite that i'm making decisions that put me at a disadvantage quite often because i side with the weaker faction. Not being able to play nice with every factions is something that i really appreciate and it also makes my decisions feel much more consequentual. I got caught off guard quite a few times thinking i was safe and could relax and then in the next moment i was facing off against the faction i had crossed. Another thing i like is how some of your decisions can have immediate repercussions. They are all so wonderfully eccentric which makes them quite memorable and fun to interact with. The main reason for my enjoyment are all the quirky characters i have met so far. I'm playing it right now and loving it so far. I don't know, as bugged and flawed as Wasteland 2 was, it still felt like the better Fallout type experience to me. Maybe it doesn't help that I was really feeling the fatigue in the latter half of the game, but at the same time a long game like this should be able to keep you engaged until the end. Just an old boring series of "fight the enemies, get the thing". I didn't have to use my dialogue skills, I didn't have any interesting alternate choices or options. You would fight some people, get a quest item, and bring it to a NPC. but in reality, it only ended up being a disappointingly linear series of combat encounters. I was excited to see how this would unfold. You talk to a guy and he explains that there are three major gangs allied to Liberty, and that your best option is to turn them against each other. One meaningful example is the part towards the end where you have to find a way to arrest Liberty Buchanan. Everything seemed to end up being a glorified series of battle encounters. I have a hard time actually remembering any meaningful experiences I had with the game. The graphics were better, the combat was way better, no pointless RNG outside of combat, countless QoL improvements.Īt the same time, I can't help but feel that this was more of a strategy game in the vein of Xcom than a Fallout-like RPG. The first impressions were great, it felt like an improved version of Wasteland 2 in every way. There are different steps that you will need to go through for getting and completing this mission in. Wait for intel on Liberty Buchanan's Location. Liberty Buchanan is holding him hostage, and Lucia is focused on finding him and learning the truth. I don't really know why this game didn't work with me overall. In this mission, you will be locating Liberty Buchanan who is the Patriarch’s daughter. Mission Steps: We've learned that Lucia's father, Percival Wesson, is still alive and may have, many years ago, conspired with the Patriarch to betray and murder the Dorsey family.
